The Aiken Westy Club began in 2001, sparked by a college purchase of a beat-up VW Vanagon, that quickly turned into a lifelong passion of reusing and restoring someone else's disregarded item. What started as a personal connection to a quirky, character-filled vehicle evolved into something much bigger—a deep dive into environemental culture, community, and living simply in a manner best served for preserving our planet. Along the way, the founder discovered a growing tribe of like-minded nature lovers; people who understood the joy, frustration, and freedom these vans brought into their lives. This shared obsession gave birth to the Aiken Westy Club, a place for community, camaraderie, and storytelling on the open road. Over time, the club naturally transformed into a solution-oriented business venture—one rooted in addressing unmet needs, filling industry gaps, and doing it all with a focus on environmental stewardship, sustainability, and making the world a better place. The journey has always been about more than just the van—it's about respecting the road, building community, and leaving every place a little better than you found it.
